Return Policy

Merchandise can be returned or exchanged for any reason*.  Merchandise must be received at Country Lane within 30 days of the original shipping date to receive full credit**. Your account will be credited after we receive and process the returned items**, typically within 1 to 2 weeks from receipt of the returned items. Returns requiring additional handling and inspection due to damage or missing original packaging will require additional time for processing. Costs associated with returning merchandise to us is the customers responsibility. Once an order or a portion of the order has shipped, the shipped portion cannot be cancelled and the shipping fees paid cannot be refunded. Additionally, if the order is returned to Country Lane or refused by the customer upon delivery, it is the customers responsibility to bear all costs associated with returning any package to Country Lane. We will refund the full purchase price**, excluding shipping/handling fees for merchandise received within the allotted time period. Returned merchandise must be received in good, saleable condition. No creases, tears, marks, dents, stains, etc... on the item or item package. All original tags, inserts, and other custom packaging must be returned to Country Lane. Merchandise received after the allotted time will be assessed a 20% restocking fee. Merchandise received in unsaleable condition will be assessed a minimum 20% restocking fee. The customer is responsible for properly and adequately repackaging any returned merchandise. Country Lane assumes no responsibility for returned merchandise that is damaged or lost in transit. Insurance is available from the carrier at nominal cost that will cover loss or damage deemed the responsibility of the carrier. Damage caused by inadequate packaging is typically not covered by this insurance. We strongly suggest that you receive guidance from your local postmaster or UPS representative when packing your return merchandise. UPS also has brochures available that illustrate guidelines for good packaging. Additional packing information can be found on the reverse side of this form. No returns accepted after 90 days from the invoice date. Returns received at Country Lane with postage due will be refused and returned.

NOTE: Items returned to Country Lane after the period allowed and stated on your invoice and as stated above, shall become the property of Country Lane. Country Lane is under no obligation to refund any costs, fees, or funds paid to us for items returned after the allotted return period stated on your invoice, including, but not limited to, the original cost of the merchandise returned and/or any shipping fees or costs incurred or paid by you.

* Items related to food consumption (napkins, plates, dining utensils, cups, pacifiers, baby bottles etc...) are non-returnable if the package is opened or if the factory seal on the packaging is broken. No exceptions, even if none of the items were used. Unopened packages can be returned.
Laundered items are non-returnable. Items that experience a failure or otherwise become unusable as a result of laundering per the manufacturers recommendations will be exchanged for the same item.

** Payment for samples is nonrefundable. Items received at Country Lane with POSTAGE DUE will be refused and returned to the customer at the customers expense.

Return Procedure and How to Pack Your Return

1. Retain the original, exterior, plain cardboard packaging and packing material if at all possible. Use packaging techniques consistent with UPS, FEDEX, and US Postal Service guidelines.  Packing and shipping guidelines can be found at www.ups.com, www.fedex.com, or www.usps.com.  If you have questions regarding how to pack your item you may contact us by phone at 800-769-5961 or by email at sales@countrylane.com.

2. Copy the original invoice or insert a note in the box with your name, address, phone number, and invoice number or order number.  We will be unable to process your return without this information.  We do not require RMA numbers.

3. Repack the item(s) to be returned so as to avoid shipping damage. The original, exterior box and packing material should be used whenever possible. If the original box is unsuitable for re-use, obtain a box that is large enough to allow for adequate packing material around all sides. The Post Office and UPS have boxes that are of proper design and construction. Some of these boxes are free. Use newspaper, cardboard, bubble wrap, paper towels, etc. to secure the item in the box. If we originally double-boxed an item (i.e. a box inside another box), then you should do the same. If we wrapped an item in bubble wrap, then secured it to a piece of cardboard with shipping tape, then you should do the same. Ideally, the item should be suspended in the packing material so that it doesn't move when shaken. As a guideline, returned merchandise should survive a 4 foot drop on to a concrete floor with impact on any side or corner. (We DON'T suggest that you do this, just visualize it. If the image you get is ugly, then the item is probably not properly packaged). After the item is properly secured in the box, tape it shut using packing tape available from your local office supply store.
